Circlo Loop Categories Explained
Understanding Circlo Loop: Giving Every Garment a Purpose
At Circlo, our mission is zero waste - from the first stitch to the last wear. Circlo Loop is where fashion goes full circle. It’s our revolutionary second-hand platform that lets you give your pre-loved pieces a new life. When you're ready to part with an item, instead of letting it sit in your closet or end up in a landfill, you can resell it through Circlo Loop and let someone else enjoy it.
To help every garment find its next chapter, we categorize our Loop products based on their condition and market value. By doing so, we ensure that every item finds the best possible use.
Based on our data driven evaluation, garments are routed through one of four specialized pathways:
- Loop Resale
- Closed Box
- Create Box
- Recycling
1. Loop Resale
Criteria: Items with an initial assessment value of €5 or more that meet one of the conditions below.
This pathway is for items from recognisable brands that we believe will sell individually.
- New with Tags (NWT): Pristine condition and featuring original retail packaging/tags.
- New without Tags (NWOT): Flawless but the original tags have been removed.
- Very Good: Lightly loved. May show minor wear, but no structural flaws or visible stains.
- Good: Well-maintained with visible character. Minor scuffs, moderate fading, or small loose threads may be present, but the item remains fully functional.
2. Closed Box
Criteria: Items valued below €5 but still in Very Good or Good condition.
High-street basics and fast-fashion staples are often better served in curated bundles rather than individual listings. The Closed Box path provides high-quality everyday wear at a fraction of the cost.
- The Concept: Each box is organized by size (e.g., Small, Medium, Large) and contains 10–15 items.
- The Mix: While predominantly clothing, boxes may include surprises like shoes, belts, or seasonal accessories.
-
The Goal: To provide a cost-effective, "wardrobe-in-a-box" solution that keeps everyday basics in circulation.
3. Create Box
Criteria: Items of any value with visible material damage (stains, tears, or structural issues) that preclude normal wear.
Not every item can be worn again, but many can still be transformed. The Create Box is designed for the makers, the DIYers, and the visionary crafters.
- The Concept: Each box contains a mix of up to 15 items of either adult or children's clothing, and may also contain accessories or shoes.
- Potential Uses: Transforming denim into tote bags, utilizing silk scraps for hair accessories, or using cotton flannels for high-quality home cleaning cloths.
- The Goal: By diverting damaged goods to the Create path, we significantly reduce the volume of textiles that would otherwise be prematurely discarded.
4. Recycling
Criteria: Items that are unwearable and unsuitable for upcycling (e.g., contaminated fabrics or severely degraded fibers).
When a garment has truly reached the end of its functional life, we ensure it returns to the earth or the industry responsibly.
- Fiber Recovery: Items are sorted by material (cotton, wool, synthetics) and sent to specialized textile recycling partners who shred the fibers for industrial use, such as insulation, carpet padding, or new textile yarn.
- Zero Landfill Guarantee: This is our safety net, ensuring that even the most 'unusable' items are handled with environmental integrity.
Payouts
Payouts occur at the end of the calendar month following the month your item was delivered. This buffer allows for shipping times and our standard return window.
As a Loop Customer, you earn revenue only on items sold individually. Please note that the following do not generate payouts:
- Items placed in a Closed Box or Create Box
- Items sent for Recycling
The Circlo Promise: By categorizing garments this way, we give every garment the longest possible life. We don't just sell clothes; we manage a lifecycle.
